Printing Your Blog
Did you know that you can repackage your blog content as a book, or more precisely, as a blook? Blook is portmanteau used since the 1990s that combines “blog” and “book” to describe a book created from previously blogged content.
You can use your blook to promote your business. Not only can it reach people who are not online and may not read blogs, but it gives even your loyal blog readers another way to enjoy your content offline.
Here are services that can help you publish your blook.
- Blurp can publish your blog in hardback and softcover options. It’s free BookSmart software slurps your blog contents from most major blogging software, and allows you to do the book formatting and layout. They offer assistance with book pricing, and offer a bookstore for selling your creation. You can also contact a member of BlurpNation to create your book for you.
- Bookemon can publish your blog in hardback and softcover options. You can use their software to do your book layout and formatting or your own layout software and convert your book to PDF before delivering it to Bookemon for publishing.
- Blog2Print works with blogs on Blogger, Type Pad, and WordPress (WordPress hosted blogs only) to create hardcover and softcover books. They provide choices for covers and book layouts.
If you already have the content from your blog and want to print it as a book, you can use Lulu, a self-publishing service that allows you to publish any written information, photos, and digital media, not just from a blog. Lulu helps you with cover art, editing, layout and other services for a fee. They also have a bookstore where you can sell your book. However, they don’t have a way to extract the content from your blog for printing.

Your turn: Have you ever published your blog? Do you know anyone who has done this? Share your experience here.

I`m sure 99% of the blogs out there don`t deserve being printed, mine included. But I guess that`s the beauty of it, it doesn`t all have to be dead serious or important.
There are a lot of reasons why someone might want to print their own blog, Allison, whether you blog for business or pleasure. Even if you just print one copy for yourself as a record of the blog.
